samantha is 3

so it was samantha's bday. it was a pretty good day. we had fun seeing and playing with family, a dinner of chicken nuggetts and fries and then cake, which of course was purple with purple icing. she got a movie and a ceramic tea set that i had made. she also had her very first hair cut ever. ok well just a trim. but happy birthday my little girl. i am so glad that you are with our family. i cant imagaine not having my little girl in my life. you are so full of happiness and surprises. plus you are now potty trained. what more can i ask for. love you mommy..

christmas

this year was a pretty good year for christmas. christmas eve we had a good spread of appitizers for dinner and watched movies and read the christmas story to the kids. after getting them to bed it was getting everything wrapped and put together. we played a funny joke on the kids this year too. christmas morning they woke up to nothing but a bowl of coal under the tree with a note from "santa". we told them in the note that sometimes all santa brings is coal and that they needed to better and not fight so much or be mean to each other. then wyatt realized it was coreys handwritting and the joke was up. we put everyone is our room and then brought christmas up from the office. we had a good day with lots of games to play with. it was good day. then we ended it with a turkey that corey smoked in his smoker. it was yummy. it has also been fun to have corey home and to be able to see lots of family. A-

new toy

well this is emmett's new favorite thing to play with. it actually has legs so it is for when he stands up but it is working great now. he loves the lights, noises etc. he has outgrown his saucer/bouncer thing and just wants to be on the floor so he can move and roll around. he is going to figure out this crawling thing soon and then i am in trouble. A-

so i caught me kids cold

yep i did. i caught the crap that is going around in my house. the kids are doing well and getting alot better and then there is me. i am doing ok but feel a little gunky. thank goodness for hot showers and hot chocolate. anyway i am finally baking my christmas cookies. i know its bad esp since christmas is like 1 week away. oh well atleast i am getting it done. off to put away laundry and bake some more...A-

strep....again

so we have strep in our house again. thanks in part to people bringing there sick kids to church and then sending them to nursery. samantha has brought it home twice in the past month or so. ahhhhh. makes me so mad. if your kids are sick leave them home. anyway so with everyone on antibotics and the kids being cranky it has been a fun filled few days around here. so i am off to scrubbing down my house again and hoping and praying we are done with this for the year..A-

catch up

well things around here have been a little busy. carter has been in preschool and has been loving it. i am keeping busy with all things dawson and have a new calling in church. i am now teaching primary to the 8 year olds. it is fun but sometimes interesting when they go off on one another subject when trying to answer a question. corey is staying busy with work which i am most grateful for. he is also trying to get our p.o.s car back together. he has been replacing the engine. hopefully another weekend or 2 and it will be back on the road. sam is just being sam with trying to help me whenever she feels the need or with playing with her brothers and friends. tomorrow is a day for baking christmas cookies and a few things around the house. more snow is supposed to be coming after our little thaw that we had so who knows. happy busy season to all..A-

ga ga ga

emmett is really starting to talk among other things. he loves to babble and alot lately. he says ga ga ga and ba ba but not da da which coreys wishes he would do. he is also getting up onto his knees and then rocking back and forth or pushing himself forward. i have a feeling it wont be long until he figures out that he can move and then he will be all over the house. which i am acutally ok with. it will be good for him to get to what he wants. he is sitting up ok and his 3 teeth are now in. he is loving baby food and anything else u put in his mouth. what a fun time this is. christmas concert

wyatt and cameron had there christmas concert this week. the whole school puts it on with each grade doing a song. it was really fun to see all the kids perform. the boys had a good time and were so proud after it was over. we went out for frosty's when we were done. they had it at the high school auditorium. i tried to get a little hint of each of the boys songs. try and see if u can find them. they are both on the back row of their song..

I HATE TEETHING!!!!!!!!!!!

so this week has been really rough. emmett is teething and not just 1 tooth but 6 at once. it is killing me. i have been living on dr. pepper and fumes. my poor baby has been waking up about 3-4 times everynight. sometimes it is an easy fix of nursing him and he is back to bed but other times it is oragel and tynenol followed by nursing and rocking him back to sleep. i just hope they come in soon because i am shot. A-

cameron turns 7

well cameron turned 7 today. it was not a bad day. he got bakugons from us. money from grandparents. he had tacos as his bday dinner and of course cake for dessert. after baths it was watching the last airbender. good bday..

sitting up

emmett has been doing a pretty good job of sitting up on his own. i was cleaning today and he was playing in his room so i took this little video. he just got this toy and is getting it figured out. he has learned that the pieces turn. kinda funny but what a cute baby. oh ya and he is teething. that is killing me..

what makes the world go round?

well for me its a big tall cold dr. pepper. my friend katie calls it her sanity. i call it heaven in a glass, mug, bottle, or can..,(depending on the day and where it came from). sometimes it is my stress reliever but yes i love my dr. pepper and that makes my world go round...

snow......

so today it snowed again and why not..its idaho and november almost december. but we did get out of church early today because of all the snow. it reminded me of when we had all the snow during my high school years where it took us 6 hours to shovel out the cars etc. i shoveled twice today. it was the powdery stuff which made it really easy. i think we got about 6 inches. well it made the day interesting. we shall see if the kids have a snow day or not but off to bed.. A-

i am grateful....

so this year we did thanksgiving with coreys family. we had a really good time at his moms house. everyone was there except for his 2 sisters and there familys. it was a ton of fun to visit, eat a ton and watch the kids play with there cousins. it is also a time of reflection and helps me to realize that even though this has been a really hard year we have some how made it through. i am blessed with a home and a wonderful husband and provider. i am lucky to be a mother of 5 even though somedays are hard and challangeing. i am blessed with the things that i need even though there are many things i would love to have, i do have what i need. i am lucky and so i am grateful. i just pray that next year will be better...A-

blizzard

so today we have a blizzard. the kids have a snow day from school which is kinda a rare thing around here but it was worth it. it is snowing and blowing really well. hope u enjoy the view..
also if u are not in idaho send me warm thoughts i am going to need them. it is supposed be only a high of 7 degrees tomorrow.. A-

snow...snow.. and more snow

so it started snowing some time sat morning and it snowed most of the day. it did stop and then it started again on sunday. we probably have a good 6 inches on the ground. ugh winter is def upon us.. but hey atleast they will go out and play in it..

6 months

so with everything going on and all the party planning, emmett turned 6 months old. he is 20 lbs and 8 oz and 28 inches long. still at the top of the charts but hey i love my big boy. he is almost sitting up, loves to laugh and babble. still rolls all over the place and has fun when he plays with dad or his siblings. i still cant believe he is 6 months old.

surprise

so corey turned 35 this year and i wanted to do something fun for his bday. so i threw him a "surprise" bday party. so by the time the party came around he new something was up but he did not know the details. we did the party at my moms house and had family and freinds there. we had music, food and rock band in the basement. everyone seemed to have a good time and i am glad that corey had fun. he was still a little surprised by it all and i got him good. now hopefully a good year ahead.

so today my husband of almost 11 years turned 35 today. still cant believe we are in our 30's. where did the time go. anyway happy bday baby. love ya

happy birthday carter

so carter turned 5 yesterday. i still cant believe that. we had cake and ice cream and pizza for dinner. well and he got his remote control truck as his gift from us. he also has birthday money burning a hole in his pocket. we shall see what he buys. also he started preschool today and he loved every minute of it..

snow

so yes idaho is receiving its 1st snow fall this fall. yeah, well i mean ugh. its pretty but that means a long, cold, winter is upon us. yuck. i need fall back..A-

he passed

so with a crazy week of studying, me getting strep and having our laundry room get flooded with poo water my husband passed his 2nd year of his apprentiship program with an 88%. i am so proud of him. this means a raise and now 3 more years to go. i am feeling better, the water is gone and the cleaning just about done, what a week. now off to another one..A-

fall leaves

today we took advantage of the last of the good weather to go play in the leaves. my mom and dad have these huge trees in the front yard, in turn makes great leave piles. the kids played for about 1/2 hour and then they were done. mostly cuz of the weather. but we had fun and that is great because it is supposed to snow and get cold here by the end of the week. now that sucks..

rasberries

emmett has learned something new. he has learned to blow rasberries. it is really funny once he gets going. sometimes he will do it for 1/2 hour. the kids think it is funny which in turn gets him going even more. he as also learned to say ba ba ba. i still cant believe this kid is 6 months old. ah gotta love him.

buddies

samantha and carter have these great playmates micheal and christan. i think we play almost every day with them. it has been such a nice fall that they have been able to play outside still. i finally had a chance to take pics of them.

HALLOWEEN

so this year with colds and boogers this was all we did. our ward does a trunk or treat and we went and had a good time. the kids got plenty of candy and we saw and visited with friends. we even had hot dogs from one couple that serves them every year. also lots of hot chocolate..

what a long week

thank goodness its friday!!!!!!!!!!! yep its been a long week. with kids getting over there colds and a whiney 9 year old it has been fun. but today i am cleaning and cleaning to get all these nasty bugs out of my house. tomorrow its the trunk o treat at the church and that should be fun. the kids had a halloween day at school but of course i cant go with sick kids. oh well nothing to excting today but hey atleast its FRIDAY...A-

much better

so things have been a little crazy at our house this past week. corey was home with a hurt back and the kids were sick, and not just boogers this time. wyatt was home thurs and then friday him and cameron were home cuz of vomit. can i just tell u i hate vomit. well cameron got better, the boogers are just about gone, corey is back to work and i took wyatt into the doctors yesterday. the poor kid has a sinus infection and a ear infection. he is on some good antibotics and is acutally eating today. good sign for him. well banana bread is in the oven and the kids are content. i think it is going to be a good day. now if i can get into the shower A-

sewing project #3

ok so u cant quite see the whole effect but i still need to hang them up. simple basic curtains again but i found these sunflower napkins at the dollar store and sewed them on. kinda of a applique look to them. anyway hopefully they will work cuz i am sick of the nasty blinds that are in my kitchen..

so cameron has lost a few teeth in the past week or so. it is really funny when he tries to say his SSSS sounds.

feeling better

so i am over my ugh. house is clean and that was very theraputic. went and did my errands and now tomorrow i can finish the laundry and hopefully finish my curtains..(yes and will take pictures). now off for dinner, homework and bath and bed time. hope it goes well A-

ugh!!!!!

so i have not posted in a while do to getting few sewing projects done. yes i need to take pics but have not done so yet. my house is an awful disaster mess today with crap everywhere. my husband is home with a hurt back and of course that is always fun. kids are boggery and awnry and i just dont want to do anything. i should be cleaning, do laundry and getting something done like grocery shopping but i have no desire what so ever to do anything. how can i get my butt in gear to do any of the above? anyone got any good ideas cuz i am just stuck today. i need therapy..ok well maybe just a big candy bar or a good walk on the treadmill.. sitting here

so i am sitting here blogging instead of cleaning my house. how sad is that but emmett is asleep and the other 2 are playing. plus i am out of cleaners and need to go to the store so i can clean my house. the basment did get clean and then laundry is on the line. now i have to wait for emmett to get up. but hey that is ok. i really dont want to do it anyway A-

sewing project #1

so i got my pillows done the other night and was pretty proud of my self. i am not a semstrist nor do i clam to be, but i can do simple things like this. i had a pile of jeans that i was going to make into a quilt but decided first to make some throw pillows for my couches. i cut apart 3/4 pairs and then had some flannel that i used for the backs. after getting them together i stuffed them with some old pillows i had kept. did not cost me a dime. what a deal. now i have something new out of something old.

fascination

emmett has found his toes this past week and he cant get enough of them. every time he lays down now he has to grab his toes. he as even tried to put them in his mouth. it is really funny. he likes it too when i take his socks off but it is getting colder here so socks are kinda important.

nothing really exciting

so nothing to exciting around here. just doing all the normal mommy things like laundry dishes etc. i have though started the process of doing a few sewing projects. i am kinda excited about them which is weird for me but hey that is ok. i got my new camera and corey has been working on the car. we have to replace the engine in our p.o.s. car but hopefully that will be done soon. then it is time to get this house back together. i swear every room on this house has something that needs done or fixed. its ok this to will get done. i did make rolls and cookies today which both are horrible to the waste line. enough for today. talk to u tomorrow A-

broken camera

so after a lazy morning with the kids i fiugured i go shower so then i could get a few things done. well after a great shower i come out of the bathroom to find that my children have busted my camera. i was a little pissed and then realized i bought the warrenty for it. so after a few minutes on the phone i will be able to go and get a new camera. the kids are lucky... so now its off to conquer the rest of the laundry and pick up the house. oh ya and some lunch..A-

one of those days

does anyone else just not want to do anything when they know for a fact that there is a ton to do today. well today is one of those days. i need to clean the house, get the laundry going and have to get a few things at the store for pack mtg tonight. plus i am still in my jammies and so are my kids. i also have a ton of things to do this weekend and not looking forward to them at all. does any one else feel this way today or is it just me. help.... A-

i quit--- again..

so i ended up going back to work at the end of july. it was only 2 nights a week and did it just to get through a few things we needed to pay for that the budget did not. well those things are now paid for and corey is going to overtime for the next few months so i quit my job again. i am actually really excited because now i wont be stressed the entire day on the days that i work. plus we as a family can have a real schedule. we can also enjoy some time as a family with out me having to work on a friday night. tonight is my last night and i am exciting. i am very grateful that i have had a chance to work and was able to get the education to do so. my children have seen me sacrifice enough time in the workforce and now its there time. so off now to be a pure full time mom. i wonder how it will go. A-

4 months

emmett is 4 months old. can u believe it. i know i cant. he weighs 18 lbs 12 oz and is 26 1/2 inches long. he is getting such a fun personality. he laughs and jabbers all the time. he has tried rice ceral but not much of a fan of it right now. he hate to lie down and has to be sitting up and looking at all times. he does have 2 teeth and is getting more. he is so fun to have in the house. i am just so grateful for a happy and healthy little boy..

my bread

sugar + fruit = jam

so i have been a little busy these past few weeks. my moms peaches were ripe so i have been canning jam and also frezzing her yummy peaches. plus mu plum tree did really well this year so i did some berry plum jam. sooooo good. plus i learned how to make bread this past week in my kitchen aid. oh my gosh. such an easy receipe. i am doing it again today and 2 loaves rising as we speak. i am turning into such a molly homemaker A-

chilly and rain

so today we woke up to cooler weather and rain. hey dont mind it a bit. we are still trying to get into a routine with school back in seesion and close to one. the house stays a little cleaner and things are a little calmer. 3 of 5 kids are on antibotics thanks to strep but everyone is feeling better. doing laundry and cleaning house before the kids get home early from school today and then its hang time. nothing to exciting but am def grateful for all my blessings and a husband that loves me and works so hard to take care of our family. have a great day A-

labor day

so we did a lot of laboring on labor day and not much relaxing. but we did end up with a great dinner to end the summer. we had dutch oven chicken and potatoes and cobbler. it was so yummy. all those who were here sure missed out..

my little sister

can you believe tiffanie's and my babies are only 2 weeks apart.
tiffanie and her little family came up this weekend for a visit and we had so much fun having them. now they are off back to logan... mmm sad hopefully we will see them soon.

eastern idaho state fair

so the state fair come around once a year and it is worth the wait every year. this year we enjoyed it. we walked around and saw lots of cool things. the kids saw and had to climb on the farm equipment exhibit.
we went and saw lots of animals. of course samantha had to try and pet them all. we had some success with a few horses.
and of course we ate. lots of lemonade and soda. along with cotton candy, corn dogs, hamburgers and of course the scone nuggets (sorry no pic of those..i am them to fast). we had a good time. now for next year..

BAD DAYS

has anyone else ever had one of those days where everything i mean everything goes to crap. well this day was one of them. i had 2 kids running fevers, a fussy baby who was teething and was eating all day long. plus my house blew up to look like this. we ended up with strep for one child and the fussy baby was up 3 times during the night. ahhhhh.. needless to say the house did get clean, the baby is now happy and we are on antibotics. wehhhh.. what a life

1st taste of food

well emmett has been doing really well nursing and not really needing anything supplemental. but lately he has been eating a ton during the day. so today i thought i would try rice ceral and see what he thought. he did ok and i only gave him 5/6 spoonfuls. the kids thought it was funny when emmett would spit it back out and then in turn in made emmett laugh. i quess we will keep trying A-

1st day of school

today was the 1st day of school so i walked them to class. cameron was a little nervous yet excited about the whole thing. wyatt did not want to walk with mom but i made him anyway. they had a good day and so did i with the other kids. now hopefully we can get on a schedule again.

extreme home makeover

so you probably all heard of this show. well corey had a chance to work on one of there houses. the show was doing a house in pocatello this past week. corey was able to go volunteer sunday and monday night. he did not really meet the stars but was working right next to and along with them. this was a once in a life time opportunity and was so proud that he took the chance and did it. they are unveiling the house today and cant wait to go down with the kids and show them what daddy helped to do. if you want to see the story go to the local tv stations online and learn all about the family A-

camerons test

cameron had his tests done and was such a trooper through out the whole process. he had a barrium swallow and a egd/scope done. everything came back normal. i talked with the surgeon that did the scope and he understood cuz he has a son that was doing some of the same things. i had him talk with cameron before we left. he did an awesome job by saying he found a kitty in his tummy and that he needed to feed it 4 times a day, and that everything was ok. we came home and cameron ended up eating a bowl of oatmeal and milk plus chips and salsa later. who really knows what started it but atleast we know that he is ok and that things will hopefully get better and that he will start gainging some wieght. A-

idaho falls chuckars

the local 449 put on a baseball night for the union workers. we went up to the idaho falls baseball game. we had a little bbq before that game and then went in and had a good time. the kids did not sit still long but seemed to enjoy it and the ice cream and nachos we got.

periced ears

samantha has been asking for weeks to have ears like mommy so we went to walmart and got them done. she cried for about 2 minutes and then was so happy and so proud of her new ears.

tests for cameron

well took cameron in today to see the surgeon. he is def on board with cameron having a scope done. in the mean time we did more blood work today and he is having a barrium swallow on wed and then the scope on thurs. the doctor did say to keep pushing the smoothies etc and then we will hopefully know more next week. oh and he is 10-15 lbs under weight. so that means i get dumbass mother of the year award. what a week it is going to be. heaven help me. A-

scope?

so cameron has not been eating very well or even at all latley so i took him in today. the pa that i saw is in our ward and is awesome. he said that cameron is under weight which i kinda new. he suggested whey protein shakes and anything i could get him to eat. cameron has been complaining of a sore throat and a that it hurts when he swallows. we are putting him on prevacid and then also getting a scope to see if there are some lesions or something that is causing the situation. hopefully we will find out soon so that we can get some weight on my little man. we did blood work today and that all came back normal. we have a consult with the surgeon on friday. will let u know more as soon as i do. A-

3 months old

yes. he is 3 months old. can u believe it. he has discovered his tongue, his fists which he sucks on and also his laugh. he is now bathing in the tub and loves to be able to splash and move around which he could not really do in the baby bath. he is happy and such a good baby and a wonderful part of out family. still cant believe it is going so fast..
